Structural Analysis

Accurate calculations and advanced simulations

Experts in strength analysis, simulations, and technical verification

At Flindt Kristensen Engineering, we specialize in structural analysis and provide comprehensive solutions within simulations, documentation, and technical verification. We work with both classical strength calculations and advanced analyses such as FEM/FEA, enabling us to assess and optimize the structural performance of your product.

By combining advanced simulation models with proven internal procedures, we ensure your construction meets all relevant standards for strength, safety, and reliability.

We supply all essential technical documentation, including risk assessments and user manuals, as an integral component of the project package.

Solutions that work in practice

Extensive experience with advanced analyses across multiple industries

Backed by years of structural analysis experience, we solve both standardized and advanced engineering challenges requiring robust strength performance, safety compliance, and verified structural integrity.

Our experience and project portfolio span a broad spectrum — including industrial components, offshore and wind applications, special structures, transport equipment, and bespoke engineering solutions.

We carry out structural analyses across civil and specialized sectors, including defense‑related industries, where stringent demands for documentation, quality, and precision apply.

The analyses are performed with a strong focus on loading conditions, operational scenarios, and relevant standards, ensuring that we can verify, optimize, and document structural compliance — even for highly complex projects.

Static analyses

We perform linear and non‑linear static analyses of steel and mechanical structures. This includes, among other things:

  • Stress and deformation assessments

  • Stability and structural buckling analyses

  • Contact and joint behaviour analyses

  • Load‑path evaluations and boundary‑condition analyses

  • Design, verification, and optimization of load‑bearing structures

We use these analyses both to support new product development and to technically verify existing structures.

Dynamic analyses

Dynamic loads often become critical design drivers in many structures, especially within industrial machinery and wind turbines. We offer:

  • Modal analysis of natural vibration modes and frequencies

  • Harmonic response analyses

  • Transient structural dynamic analyses

  • Random vibration and PSD analyses

  • Shock effects and time‑varying load profiles

  • Vibration assessment and resonance analysis

The aim is to ensure a robust structural design and avoid unwanted vibrations, fatigue failures, or resonance-related problems.

Bolt strength and weld strength calculations

We perform detailed bolt and weld calculations based on internal procedures and applicable standards. This includes, among other things:

  • Bolt preload assessment and friction behaviour evaluation

  • Bolts subjected to shear and tension loads

  • Combined loading conditions

  • Structural design and verification of welded joints

  • Design, verification, and optimization of load‑bearing structures

  • Fatigue analysis of structural joints

  • Documentation for authorities and third‑party inspections

The calculations are frequently incorporated directly into FEM models to provide a realistic evaluation of load distribution and component interaction.

Advanced structural analyses

For complex structural problems, we apply advanced simulation methods that extend beyond traditional strength analysis.
This includes, among other services:

  • CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)

  • Fracture mechanics

  • Composite and plastic materials

  • Fatigue assessment

These analyses are typically applied in development projects, optimization workflows, and in the documentation of safety‑critical structures with stringent requirements for durability and operational life.

At Flindt Kristensen Engineering, we identify the most appropriate methods for each assignment and provide guidance on the optimal analytical approach — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and meaningful value for your project.

Our approach

Our work is founded on:

  • High‑fidelity simulation models

  • CAD‑driven development and integration

  • Systematic definition of loads and boundary conditions

  • Geometry and material utilization optimization

  • Fully documented calculations with traceability

  • Structured and easy‑to‑follow technical documentation

We handle new designs, redesign projects, structural upgrades, and damage assessments — consistently prioritizing safety, functionality, and resource efficiency.
